WTF!!??

Alright, the car in question is in my sig. The problem is I have oil coming out of my exhaust. It's not bad at idle, but when I rev the car it sprays out and some will even pour out when you let off the gas. The whole time the car is leaking oil out of the flexpipe in my exhaust, like steadily. I had to modify the pcv system on the car because I had blowby from the breather filter on my valve cover. So I gutted the pcv valve located in the back of the vc, and ran a line from the breather opening(also bored this hole out larger) to the intake pipe on my turbo. This was recommended to me by someone knowledgable about these cars. I think it's better myself, but anyways. I took the valve cover off to make these improvements and when I put it back on, of couse it had a leak(a small, but CONTINUOUS leak). I took it off to find a fucked up gasket, so went and got another gasket and some OEM grey rtv, and sealed it back up. Let it sit overnight and crunk it up earlier this evening. Car cranks right up and idles fine, but it's pouring oil out the exhaust. During this period of time I did make a 40 mile round trip to a neighboring town. Car ran fine, but when I saw the back of my car the next day, it looked like it had be sprayed with a mist of oil. There's no oil in my charge pipes, at least not the first one after the throttle body. I figured if the was oil in it my MAF would be soon fucked up as well, so I went ahead and checked that one. If I should check the others, I will, just not 2nite. Already cold, and I put in 10 hours already today. Anyways, what does this sound like to you guys??

are you checking your oil, is it going down?

you probably blew you turbo's seals. should have used a restritor. time for a rebuild....

I am using a restrictor. I was afraid that might be was wrong, just didn't think I'd be losing THIS MUCH oil because of it.

Question....if oil was leaking onto the top of the flexpipe of the exhaust, would/could it seap into the exhaust pipe itself, and be coming out the back...I'm pretty sure the car is still leaking oil outta the valve cover, only worse this time. BTW, if the pistons rings were blown, where would oil be coming out at then?? Don't you have a oily mess when you blow the piston rings?? Shawn, if you see this ----, give ya boy a holler.

Re: WTF!!??

well its probably leaking from where the downpipe bolts to the turbo then it leaks onto the flex pipe. so it is still getting into the exhaust through the down pipe. what kind of turbo do you have. is it an ebay special ching chong turbo?

Naaah, it's a blaast T3/T4...It looks like it has to be leaking from the engine somewhere above the exhaust. I haven't took the downpipe off, but I had it off a few weeks ago and everything was dry there...I bet it is now too...I just don't think I can be losing this much oil thru the seals of my turbo...I hate to, but I gotta take it to somebody tomorrow. I don't have a really good way to get under the car, and I'm working 10 hour days right now, so I just don't have the time. On top of all that my wife's car went to ------' up yesterday. It's either the fuel filter(hopefully) stopped up or the fuel pump going out on that car. Oh well, when it rains it pours....

Blaast, eh? From what I've seen they've been selling people ---- lately. It's possible the oil you're seeing drip is from the PCV ports leaking around where the charcoal canister is. That's happening with my car. What kind of PCV setup are you running? Just take the downpipe off the turbo real quick or separate the whole exhaust housing from the chra if that's all you can do. I seriously doubt the oil is working down into the flex pipe, especially with the slight positive pressure there is in the exhaust there.

Re: WTF!!??

Check your compression, if your rings are blown you'll be leaking compression into the crankcase, since it's boosted that's alot of compression.

That would make oil shoot up your PCV and right into your intake. ------- the rings again much harder.
