wrx/cx hatch?

found this website and think its really cool. hoping you might be able to help me out.

I have a 93 cx that i am doing a mini me swap with. Recently I found a mint condition wrx turbo for next to nothing. I was wondering which fuel management would be best if i turbo'd my mini me with the wrx turbo. I believe the internal wastegate is set to something like 7.something psi. .. so I am not sure if i can get away with an fmu or upgrade to a vafc hack/dsm injectors? or is it possible to run a vafc with stock si injectors at this psi?
my roomate has a huge fmic but i think it might be too big for my application. would it be better to get a small intercooler from some junk car, the huge fmic or none at all?

thanx

You can run the fmu but i would recommend the hack with some dsm 450's (which is pretty typical :P), I tried the fmu personally and did not like it . A lot of poeple have had success with it im just not one of them. The stock si injector will not keep up in my mind. Get the 45o's injectors. As for the intercooler , i dunno is it gonna be free? or just gonna lend it to you? Unless you are planning on more boost via an upgraded engine , why not. For the boost you are gonna run just get a dsm sidemount. Now im just babbling hope i helped :P

I'd get a Starion or DSM side mount. The WRX turbo keeps up extremly well, but at higher psi its going to heat the air up some.

I'd recommend the WRX turbo for sure, I'm having a hard time justifying swapping mine out for a SVO .63/.60 b/c I just kept "bumper to bumper" with a 98' cobra on only 7psi !!! WIth low compression, cold engine redline, 3 people in the car !!! He pulled a car on me, and we stayed like that till 120 !!

Plus I used to get 13psi by 3700rpms, but I turned the boost down b/c my other car got wrecked and now my civic CAN'T BREAK, but boost is basiclly instant, BTW I also have the stock exhuast piping from the cat to the axle-back where my exhuast ends ( note: My cat is punched ).

switch to 2.5" or 3" exhaust and i bet it'll spool by 2.5-3k.

td04L off the wrx is a very nice turbo and mine spools to 10-11psi by 3k.

hey thanx for the info(sorry for not replying earlier cuz i was outa town). Yeah i think i am def gonna do the wrx turbo,2.5" exhaust, side mount intercooler..Still not exactly sure what i would like to do for management though.
I would like to use the fmu cuz its cheap and simple but if its not enough i might just wait and save a bit for the afc hack.

Why don't you try ghettodyne?

ghettodyne? is that one of those things where you burn your own chips and such? I basically want the cheapest most effcient management cuz i only have x amount of dollars right now to get my car on the road. I just happend to find this turbo and seeing how feasible it would be for my application.

Re:wrx/cx hatch?

Which ECU are you using? I wrote some of the boost code for the PM6. Most noteably the boost cut :) Since it's 93 is it a P28? I think someone else merged the boost code over to that one too so it should be doable. This is a million times safer with DSM 450's than just boosting the fuel pressure or something like that.
