Would this valve work in a custom MBC setup
I know its free flowing from one side and flow controlled in the other direction... and its needle and ball/spring type basically, if i had two 1/4" Male NPT x 3/16" hose barb what do you guys think... would be better than a home depot mbc? its the flow control valve in this link not the needle valve or the check valve http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/valvestore/pneutrol.pdf (look at second page) |
Re: Would this valve work in a custom MBC setup

mcmaster.com
part # 5010k71 $9.71 + shipping the "check valve" would be a better choice IMO, rather than the "flow control" |

look at the link posted... what they call a "check valve" is not the same as a conventional check valve... the one they offer will need to be modified (drill a little hole) and thats it... FYI, a manual ball and spring boost controller is a check valve :1 |
Re: Would this valve work in a custom MBC setup
ok, i got it in the mail today....
i will say this... it COULD be used as a boost controller, but a new spring will need to be used. the one provided is EXTREMELY weak sauce. the nut on top is extremely difficult to turn off the first time, they use a thread sealer so its not supposed to be adjustable. im not sure how much work will need to be done to make it work as a MBC, but it can be modified to work, and i think it would be pretty easy to do. i will look more at it tonight and see what i can come up with. |
