Would I need to drop compression?

I have a 98 Si, d16y8, bone stock for the time being. If I got a T25 or T3, running at 10psi or less, would I need to do something to lower my compression?
I ask because I know the y8 is a relatively high-compression engine, but I'm reading alot of people HMTing d16's on stock internals, and as far as I can tell, without changing the pistons or anything. Are hese people instaling thicker head gaskets to lower the compression? If so, what's a good target compression for a y8 running a T25 or T3 at about 10psi?
This is kind of the basics of what I'm plannnig:
-- either an hf manifold or a log-style; I want to retain AC + PS.
-- T25 or T3, preferably a used (in good condition, or rebuilt) Garrett. Internal WG.
-- a long, slim FMIC (I've seen some that are as slim as 5.5")
-- OBD1, chipped, don't know what tuning... perhaps Uberdata?
-- upgraded fuel pump and injectors. Will have to look into these a little more...

Looking forward to constructive replies! :)

10psi, nothing less. you need to change nothing for such.

there is a reason 'd series 10 lbs turn ya out' exists. boost it and go

honda didn't make a 98 si, and the si didn't come with a y8

Canada had an Si-R I thought.

Idk, w/e.

D16y's are a failure motor anyway, boost it, throw a rod from bearing catastrophe and throw in a Z6.

Or ZC, if you're man enough.

you don't need to lower the compression. A stock y8 will hold 15lbs w/o any issues if tuned properly. convert it to obd1, get some 450's, and get someone that actually knows what the hell there doing to tune it, and you'll be boosting your way to some orange chicken goodness in no time.

Lowering compression is for Nancies! Just add timing or meth/water injection or fuel or all of the above. It'll just be more prone to knock, but you can deal with that in any of the ways listed above and others not listed. You'll get more bang (hopefully not literally) for your buck and can run a bigger turbo with better low throttle response.
