would it be hard to

do you guys think it will be hard to make a 5 cylinder header from custom log pipes? or would it be easir to modify the headers i already have to have a turbo fit..

This for a Volvo or an Audi?

Re: would it be hard to

its for a acura 2.5tl same engine as in vigor

if you're confident enough to make your own manifold, a 5 cyl is no different than any other.

Re: would it be hard to

Yeah, just make a log manifold for it. I'm guessing your OEM manifold is cast iron, so it'd be tough welding something onto that and actually having it hold up. The hardest part about it is gonna be getting some half-decent fuel management I think...

Well if i do a 5-8psi boost nothing is really ganna need a massive tune would it? also i had to take off my headers to replace the damn o2 sensor and i was woundering... the pipe looked like a stainless steel piping so if i cut in and weld on a adapter to fit a t3/t4 turbo of an mx3 its like a IHI rbc5 so im guessing its like a crysler t3 7 psi waste gate? so what you think

when did Honda make a 5 cyl motor? :-\

well its an acura with a honda engine wierd huh!? 20 valve 5 cyl inline

Re: would it be hard to

yeah alot of acuras have 5 cylinder motors. they also have a v6 thats not turned sideways like the accord and other v6, its positioned like rwd would be but its fwd. i dont know what kind of transaxel it had. i saw it in the junkyard.

Re: would it be hard to

yea all the vigor and 2.5 TLs runs on a 5 cylinder 20 valves.
It sits stright like a RWD but runs on front wheel. LOL

i don`t see why you couldn`t do a log but if the stock header collector sits at the right position i would just weld a flange on it.

Re: would it be hard to

I have a 97 2.5 TL and have been looking into what it would take to boost it. I don't think welding a flange is possible due to space constraints, but I think relocating the battery to the trunk and making an extension pipe from the exhaust mani with the flange on it would work. Here is a pic of the exhaust manifold

Re: would it be hard to

I think your best bet would be to make a top mounted log mani. Those trannies on those things are goofy as ---- looking and look like a major PITA to take off.

I was thinking what if i took off the pre-cati and put the turbo there... cause the turbo i have has a o2 sensor on the exhuast side... so i can just hook it up there... what about that?

Re: would it be hard to

also i had a question what if i took the exhust manifold of an volvo s40 t5 its a 5 cylender engine would that work ?

Re: would it be hard to

I highly doubt it.

I've never seen one. Do the ports match up? how about the bolt holes? It's just like anything else, you have to get ahold of one and see.

Re: would it be hard to

get ahold of jgs and see if they can get a you a manifold kit, its a really good deal if you can weld. i bet that 5 cyl would turn heads on 7 psi , i wanna see how it does. ive seen awd volvos that were 5 cyl and they could fry all 4 . i am sure the acura would run at least as good.

Nuda 08-26-2005 09:00 PM

Re: would it be hard to

sorry but JGS ?? im ganna do this the guy at the xtream car saloon said he would do my oilpan for 150 that hour of work so im all for that... im ganna ask alot of questions when i start thats for shure i think the mani off t5 should match up... as for the holes ill drill... but if it dosent match up ill have to log it i guess... cause all that engine is is mine turned sideways.. 2.5 5 inline so i think it should work..
