Re:is it worth it to run a catch can?
As long as it won't melt, you can use just about anything...I saw one on Ebay that was made using a water seperator for phumatic tools, and I thought it worked well so that's what I have made mine out of. I think it's cool because you can see though it, and you can unscrew the bottom when you need to empty it...

i'm going to use a peanutbuter type jar/plastic. i'll take pics. so it just needs to be able to hold the oil, it doesn't heed any screens or filters inside?

Keep in mind that the whole thing is based on AIRFLOW...if you dont have a totally sealed container it won't work properly.

Re:is it worth it to run a catch can?
just use some of those plasic mesh that girls like to use to wash the bodies with at walmart (oh ---- I use those too! ;D). They can be had for like $1.

Re:is it worth it to run a catch can?
dammit! why not just buy a catch can? they are very cheap, $25-40 on ebay, or a breather tank from summit for $20, people bash me for being cheap, now this is cheap.

i used a crappy plastic water bottle and it worked fine

I'm just gonna use an older powersteering fluid container or some ---- like that. It already has 2 nipples (one higher then the other to 8)) so I tihnk it will work beautifully.
