Re:is it worth it to heat wrap turbo, down pipe & exhaust manifold, charge pipes
well people do it because of over heating problems. it brings the risk down a bunch. and also keeps air hot where it needs to be, and air cool where it needs to be. some people dont do it because they want to keep there engine bay looking better(charge pipes and what not) or its just not needed..... but using it will definetly help you rather than not help at all

if your downpipe or manifold run really close to any charge pipes than its a good idea.

exhaust wrap can rot manifolds and downpipes.
well, it actually increases the rate of oxidization (rusting) of the metal. |

hmmm. never hard that before

can't see no pic in the link :'(

Sorry, If you want to see the pics you have to register on that board.
The pics show that wraping a header does not cause the metal to rot. The moisture holding/rotting is a myth. |
Re:is it worth it to heat wrap turbo, down pipe & exhaust manifold, charge pipes
well many header manufacturers void the warranties if you use wrap... You need to be careful somtimes the extra insulation makes manifolds warp

just ceramic coat your ---- first, then wrap
