without a i/c

i am saving up now for a qaulity turbo kit to build up and i was just wondering if i can boost to 8psi without having a I.C. i know it cools down the temps and gives you hp at high boost but will it be alright not to have one at 8psi

Everyone is going to tell you it's not worth it.

You can do it, just have to fiddle with the timing.

Re: without a i/c

i dont really want one in the front cuz i suck at welding and that is to many welds and taking off my bumper. does anyone know where i can get a brand new sidemount for less then 200? and how do you guys make your intercooler stay in one place i used zip ties last time it looked like ---- and didnt work very well. i dont want to weld stuff onto the frame though. thanks for the help.

Re: without a i/c

Why does it need to be new? Pick up a used dsm sidemount and call it a day. For under 200, you can have a new FRONT mount. Yea, and there are these things called mounting brackets for your intercooler..

Re: without a i/c

^ brackets are your best friend.

and from what it sounded like you dont want to put a fmic because you have to take off the bumper? and how are there too many welds if you use brackets?

buddy run an i/c

just get one off a srt-4 that's what i'm doing.

I paid $125 shipped for my srt intercooler and the core is mint.

just get anything even if it's a probe intercooler.

if you don't get one then detnation will be your new best friend.

even thirty minutes is quite a long time. if its goin on your civic, just do the screws under the tire wells, and pop off the clips. shouldnt take more than 2-5 minutes.

if you dont want to spend an extra hundred bucks for an ic when you pop your motor your going to have spend more money anyways.

Re: without a i/c

It all depends on your tune-intake charge temp. Not running a IC is sometimes better than running a horse ---- IC. If you don't have the $$$ run less timing and higher octane gas.

id like to see you take the bumper off in 5 minutes without breaking ----. it takes me about 10-20 minutes to get my tools out unclip all the clips and screws holding it down.cuz ive done it about 5 times.
