Will this work...
This is probaly a dumb question, but what the hell, that's how we roll...I'm fixin' to try and turbocharge my 05 Nissan SpecV, and to cut down on some cost I wanna have a friend of mine fabricate my manifold. The engine in the car is a QR25DE and of couse I can't find an exhaust manifold flange ANYWHERE. My question is, could I just go to the parts house and get an exhaust manifold GASKET and then use this as a stencil to draw up the flange?? I've been told that If I have a drawing of the pattern for the flange, that one can be made up....That should work, right

Re: Will this work...
I would say dont even spend the money on a gasket to stencil. Cut out a rectangular 1/2 thick slab of metal. Then use your stock gasket to mark the holes and drill them out. It doest have to look pretty. It just has to work. The metal you need can be found in the scrap pile of most metal suppliers for pennies a pound. A jig saw with a 32 tooth blage will do fine if you go slow enough not to ment the teeh of the blade to cu t out the rectangle. Just make shure you use a good hole saw and not the chep combo ones they sell at home depot for $5. Get the Rigid brand ones that are like $10. Like with the saw blade go slow and use some cutting oil or WD40 while drilling.
Hope that makes sense and helps.
