will JB weld hold this?
Hello everyone, I had to rotate my compressor housing on my new turbo in order for me to hook up my stock intercooler piping. Now my wastegate doesnt line up right, i have found a good place to remount it, and my question is can i JB weld the wastegate actulator bracket to the compressor housing? I think it will hold, but how strong is this stuff? what do you guys think?

Re:will JB weld hold this?
it'll get too hot. JB Weld starts to get mushy at a certain heat...don't remember what though. If that ---- didn't have a max heat i woulda made my whole damn downpipe with it lol

the package says its good to 600 degrees

Re:will JB weld hold this?
what about 600 degrees with 10LBS. of presure being pulled against it ??
Even without the heat, I'd say it wouldn't hold, the heat just seals the deal. A few spot welds would prob. do the trick, and still be removable. |
Re:will JB weld hold this?
Just make some new brackets... It's amazing what you can do with a hacksaw and a drill. :o
