Default Will a .43/.48 be enough for my goals (not a honda)?

I don't own a honda, and the forum I came from everyone is to stupid and think "if it doesn't cost a lot, it won't work." So I'm coming to you honda owners for some help.

I'm trying to peice together a turbo kit for cheap, which doesn't seem to exsist on my forum, 5k seems to be the minium. Until I saw some honda owners doing it for under 2k, this gave me some hope.

Anyways, it's a 2.5liter engine, about 190hp at the crank. I'm trying to build a low boost system at ~5psi, my goals is to reach 240-250 hp at crank (~220whp). Will a t3 .43/.48 be enough to get me there? Or will I need something bigger? I really hope it is, because all I got left is about 170bucks left for the turbo, since now I have to invest in a external wastegate. My engine block and manifold bolt up direction will not allow for a internal.

while there will be a few things to change the outcome, like compression ratio and such, a .42/.48 chrysler t3 on Alecs 1.6 ZC made like 213whp on 10psi. Don't see why you couldnt hit what you're looking to hit.

PS - All those guys at the racetrack that check out my car after a 13 second pass that look at these $3-5K turbo kits ---- their pants when I tell them I spent about $900 in parts and building the kit, and about $300 in management electronics.

No, I mean can a .43/.48 turbo do 250hp? Everyone tells me that this turbo is to small and will max out at around 210hp, and just blow hot air after that.

yep, turbo is way too small to be efficient for that power level.

at t3 60trim would get you there easily(from a ford 2.3 turbo turbocoupe, merkur xr4ti, svo,ect...) what are you working with? you cant just throw a turbo on and expect it to make a certain amount of power. cylinder head flow plays a big role in hp. example honda's heads flow pretty well and that's why the respond to boost so well. now get some pos iron 8V head and it will probably only make 8-9hp per pound of boost as aposed to a honda which makes 10-13hp per pound of boost. tell us what you got and we might be able to help you.

So a for t-bird will cut it for me? Those are something like .60/.63?
What about those other .60/.48 or the .42 with a 60trim compressor wheel?

Try going for a T3/T4 if you can find one.
