hey everyone, as some may know ive been working on my turbo(install), but i have a prob with boost in 1st gear. when at idle my vac is around 20(vac) and when im in first the gauge go's to about zero(boost/vac) but as soon as i shift to 2nd i have boost. this is what i have(if it helps) dohc zc t-25 turbo a chipped ecu(te) dsm blue tops and a 2nd gen bov. the bad part is im still using a 4spd tranny and as of know i dont have an intercooler. so why cant i boost in 1st?? thanks for any help

 

What kind of boost controller are you using?

 

as far as boost control i have my ecu chipped by xenocron(set @8psi) do i need another sort of boost control?

 

just being curious are you useing a fpr or and fmu by any chance?

 

yeah i have a b&m fpr and the b&m gauge reads 35-40(wot) psi if that matters/helps

 

I don't boost much in 1st either and I just assumed that there isn't enough load to build boost

 

Most likely has to do with your tuning. What ECU program did you use for engine management? I would ask the person who burnt your chip what they did to the settings for first gear. Its a good thing that you dont boost much in 1st anyways to avoid blowing your motor in that short gear span. First only gets you to like 35mph anyways.

 

i have a chip from xencron and its in my pr4 ecu. and i need to boost in 1st because right now im rockin a 4speed

 

For at least ODB0 ECUs, the ECU has no idea nor does it care what gear you are in.
