buy a greddy manifold.....cccrap manifold.....rev hard the hks log style or BMC even i think you just have to specify A/C or notbut your going to spent some money for those manifolds......do you live in the desert? or in extreme heat conditions?

Re:whos turboed with A/C

I've got A/C in my integra. It's a Stealthmode Performance mani with the flange on the far passenger side. I had to pull both my fans, and mount pushers on the front of the A/C condenser. I also had to zip tie all the A/C lines to the Radiator Top support (in the hole for the hood latch). THEN, on the bottom, unbolt the bracket holding the A/C lines to the lower part of the support, and zip tie both those lines to the hole where the bracket used to go. Last but not least, wrap all A/C lines in reflective heat tape.

Cliff notes: ---- load of work. If you really need A/C, be prepared to have a bitch of a time.

Re:whos turboed with A/C

I live in the Miami area. The sun around 2 pm is like a laser. But the hurricane season (whicj starts next week) makes it impossible to not have AC in your daytime ride. We get rainstorms while it's still 90 degrees. U try driving around with the windows up in that kind of heat.

Anyway; I have a Drag(POS) manifold mated to a Mitsubishi 14G which allowed me to preserve my AC. But to do that my downpipe starts @ approximately 1.25" & flares as it makes the 1st bend.

Since my POS manifold cracked like a senior citizen, I'm going custom mild steel w an offset to allow for a 2.5 " downpipe.

IMO the biggest headache is tuning for AC & turbo. I've since come to realization that VTEC engagement + turbo @ 10 psi = Detonation

the only reason i care is when it comes time to sell my car. I have no idea on how much turbo affecs cost of car if car is worth 4000 w/o turbo what it worth with one? Sounds stuped i live in wisconsin were i have to scrap ice of window 1/2 the year

Re:whos turboed with A/C

UR going to sell the perfect sleeper ride that starts stock w/a DOHC, that UR adding a turbo to ? ;B

Like I said, VTEC engagement w/AC & boost will net U detonation.

Just go all motor. Safer for your interanls & cheaper to do.

Re:whos turboed with A/C

And how exactly does A/C cause detonation? Unless you had your A/C on? ???

Re:whos turboed with A/C

OK, sorry for the subtlety.
If U have your AC on when you hit VTEC engagement (& this is under the presumption that UR boosting prior to VTEC eng.) U will hear little pigmys doing a tap dance in your engine.

Let me know if U need me to type that slower so that U can read it.
;D

OR, you can not be a fucktard of an assbag, and turn off your A/C when you know you're gonna boost.

Re:whos turboed with A/C

I can understand the detonation when boosting vtec when running your a/c. That's a pretty big strain. I would definately say turn your a/c off when racing. If you want a reliable car with turbo & a/c, go buy a lower miles factory turbo car.

I've lived in FL for 20 years and none of my cars had a/c, I really didn't care that much. I do agree that it helps the resale value very much when selling.

So does anyone's SSAutoCrap manifold retain the a/c??? I was seriously thinking of picking one up :P

Oh yeah, you people might want to look into compressor relocating brackets, if you must have a/c and that custom manifold.

Re:whos turboed with A/C

turbo'd with a/c was 2 hrs. ago built up headpressure because of my pressure switch going bad, blew the pressure relief valve racing last night, forgot to turn it off during the races,,,, opps..... it really wasnt worth it in the first place you could need it in the hotter states of the U.S.A. like Texas and Arizonia.. not much else

if you had purchased a fmic on the group buy or had gotten one later, i recommend not using a/c not mush air flow coming through the condenser to cool the refridgerant....

race to drag or a/c for lag....

OK I'm a whoos(sp) then. Both of my cars have AC. I only use the AC when tooling around town. On the Honda I stay below VTEC engagement when chilling. Since I don't race from a dead stop it isn't an issue for my E-Manage's fuel map to compensate for the ECU's mapping w/AC on. B4 conceding to custom manifold piping I was looking at the manifolds on ebay. But I couldn't find any that would allow for the fan for the AC condensor. There R some auctions which show a full setup w/a double wide radiator that would let U believe that it would work with AC. But if U look closer, U'll realize that there is no fan on the half of the radiator that would be the equivalent of the AC condensor. IMO it's nearly impossible to preserve the AC in the smaller Honda engine bays w/o going custom manifold.
