White smoke under in-gear deceleration

Ever since the turbo install I have been getting white smoke under deceleration in gear. My return line is perfect, I have an oil restrictor, and the turbo is a T3 .48/.60 from accordeppicenter. It has VERY little shaft play and doesnt sound bad or anything. My compression yeilded 230-235 on all cylinders. The smoke is definitely oil (from teh smell of it anyways).

Any ideas why?

It doesnt make any sense for it to be the rings or anything on my motor, since I haventy even got to boost yet. Still waiting to tune. Hopefully a guy named Scott can dyno tune my car in a couple weeks in GA.

TIA!

not likely- when downshifting, you create a slight vacuum in the exhaust mani because the cylinders aren't getting filled and are still pumping. The vacuum can aggravate a shitty turbine seal or an over-pressurized turbo. You say you have a restrictor, but at what pressure?

I got teh oil restrictor from ATPturbo. I dont know what pressure it puts it at...

Learn your colors.

Grey = Fuel.
Blue = Oil
White = Coolant.

It sucks when you have a mix of all.
Smells nasty !

well it smells exactly like the oil does in the head. It smells sweet. I use mobil 1 10W-30 full synth. it smeels sweet coming out of the bottle.whe I take the oil fillup cap off, that is how the smoke smells. The smoke looks white but may be grey.....doesnt smell liek gas though I dont think.

So did you figure it out ?
Same problem here.
White smoke. Smells like burnt oil.
Intake compresor clean.
Output turbine looks clean also though the heat could be burning the oil off.

A sweet smell is coolant.
You prob have a small HG leak.
Some coolant getting into your oil.

I noticed mine actually did this too, on the dyno when decelerating after a pull. I guess I just assumed that my HG was starting to go, that I had some coolant leaking into the cylinders and on deceleration since there is no gas, all that came out was the coolant smoke.

Same her. Compressor is oil free, tehre is a good bit of carbon in my downpipe, but the turbine fins are clean like they were heated (look liek the bolts holding my turbo to teh manifold....whiteish).

I guess I could be getting a coolant leak, but I havnt even boosted yet, so how is my head starting to lift?

I did do seafoam a few months ago, and this started shortly after...I put some in teh gas tank, brake booster line and crankcase. Drove it for a day and changed the oil. You think it cleaned all the buildup around the valve seals and caused them to leak a little?
