where to find needle valve to reduce turbo pressure

just as the question states. Does it matter what kind of needle valve or all they all the same? And can this be bought at the local hardware store?

i don't know what you exactly mean by turbo pressure, but if you are planning on putting the needle valve on the boost/vac line that runs to the wastegate you will be raising the boost.

no, my bad; I mean oil pressure to the turbo. I am getting some oil passing the o'rings of the turbo at high RPMs and my oil pressure gauges shows that I am at like 90psi at 6000rpms.

Hence I need a needle valve.

Some folks use holly carb jets of the appropriate size installed in the feed line.

will a simple valve work? One that has a nob on the top like a homemade boost controller?

I would think so but don't know for sure. If I did use a valve it would certainly have to maintain it's setting. A lock nut or something seems like a good idea to me.

Re:where to find needle valve to reduce turbo pressure

can someone post a pic of the stealthmode needle valve? I just came from The Home Depot and their needle valves had a little nob on the top like the valve on a water hose. Is his much different?

Also, the needle valve itself looked very restrictive, the hole was about the size of the tip of a pen. Will this be healthy for the turbo? How do you know how much pressure to give the turbo?

Also I noticed that oil spills out of my return pipe coming off the oil pan. It is at the highest point posible on the pan. I have an 8" hose as a return line to the 90 degree pipe coming from the turbo to the oil pan. With the return hose on, the oil only reaches an inch into the hose. With too much oil pressure going to the turbo, will that cause the oil to back up into the turbo and cause the oil to pass through the turbo's seals?

Look in the classifieds under stealthmode's for sale thread for a pic of the ball valve. To monitor the oil pressure you will need a gauge. This way you know how much you are adjusting and too much oil will cause oil to pass through the seals.

I bought a -4 an braided steel oil line, same as the ones that come in the kits. Will that work? hope so, the sob was expensive. :o

The male and female sides of this valve are 1/8npt, but they can be ordered in other sizes as well. ;)

nice stealthmode i have hade a couple of thoughs laying around but they are 3/8 used a 3/8 ss hose from lowes and added a inlet screw on needle valve, what ever size is cool as long as you can control it, hey i had someone tell me to regulate oil pressure after the the turbo on the drain side that wouldnt be wise right????
