Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
I have the turbo, but no fittings.
I'd like to buy them new, anyone knows of a source for those? Thanks |

Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
the water fitting are your standard NPT thread.
goto any store and get some barbed fittings. |
Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
my td04L wasn't npt. they were metric thread. take your turbo to a fitting supply store and they can try various sizes to see if they fit. if not take it with you to a hardware store and try various bolts in it and then go to napa and ask for banjo fittings and banjo bolts that will fit.

Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
I used NPT fittings and barbs for the coolant on a less-than-complete SOHC Greddy turbo kit with the TD05H-15G
The oil fittings I believe are 10mm X 1.0 (same as the back of the block). Don't quote me. We threw away the exceptionally gay banjo fittings due to some of the parts being lost, and the incredibly gay j-spec anti-AN ends on the oil line wasn't compatible with anything. Cross threaded some nice, soft brass 1/4" flare to 1/8" NPT fittings into the turbo, works great. |

ya man, go to either your local mitsubishi or eagle(depending on what kinda car your turbo came off of, although it shouldn't matter) dealership. They can get the lines for you, it's funny I saw this thread, cause my new lines are supposed to be in tomorrow.

All the fittings on the mitsu turbos are metric, not NPT... you can make a NPT fitting work, just throw some teflon tape on the fucker and screw it in.. lol, we have done it many times.. Best way is to use the factory banjo bolts, chop off the line, throw a inverted flare on the end, run the hose, and clamp it up.. Works perfect!

I found that brake flare fitings worked perfect for my TD05H, try them, I know they aren't cheap but they are available. ;D

Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
flared fittings? buying oem lines new and earls fittings seem too pricey for me..

Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
The flare fittings I mentioned are $0.50 a pop. Pricey??
I was thinking T3 when I said 1/8 NPT to 1/4 flare... I think it was 1/4 NPT to 1/4 flare... used a 90 bend, actually, then went to flare fitting to screw the oil line into. Tried both the yard and the Mitsu dealer on the oil line banjo bolt... the yard did not have, and the Mitsu dealer claimed they required a VIN number or else they couldn't access their incredibly gay j-spec computer system (you see where I'm going with this?). |

NPT fittings are imperial, the turbo is metric. How are you getting them to work, I used 12.5 mm brake fittings. They where a couple of bucks each but not free.
I used a brass NPT fitting in there first for a temp, and the damn thing blew right out of the turbo when I revved and the oil pressure started to build. I really wouldn't skimp out with oil lines, remember your engine uses the same oil as your turbo. |

Yeah, the brass fitting blew out, not like a firehose with a skinny kid holding on, but like a garden hose sitting on its end. The threads on the fitting stripped themselves right off from the pressure. Now it seems to work just fine.

Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
did you use teflon? a lot of guys just wrap an npt thread and stick it in the bspt oil sender and run fine. since thats the source you'd figure that would blow out before the one at the turbo. its only 5bucks for a whole pack of adapters at autozone, go figure.

so which is it? 10mm or 12mm? i tried the npt fittings and i couldn't find any to fit the oil inlet.

Re:Where can I buy oil/water fittings for TD05H turbo?
Ok this thread has confused me so bad lol. ::) What are the inlet and outlet sizes of both the oil and the water. And theyre metric correct? Also where is a good place to pick up the earls connectors?

PS, their store list is not complete, the Earl's Performance shop I went to isn't on the list either, call them and ask them if there is one in your state. |
