when is there vaccum?
Well I just ordered a boost guage, oil pressure, and fuel pressure guages. as well as am FMU to get ready for boost.
But I have a question since ive never really looked into this. I will hook up all my guages etc probaly before the turbo is on, and im wondering, when is vaccum displayed? There is vaccum on a n/a car right? When your decelerating? |
Re:when is there vaccum?
there is vacuum unless you are at WOT, regardless of whether you are driving or idling.. the amount of vacuum is dependant on how much you are pushing the gas pedal. N/A motors do have vacuum

Re:when is there vaccum?
u have vaccum once engine is started
think about when the thottle is closed and the pistons is going up and down,"SUCK" really hard within that closed chamber(intake manifold), that creats vaccum. as you opens up the thottle, more air is allowed to go in, vaccume will goes down..unitl you hit WOT, then it has no vaccume and hit 0 on your boost gauge. on a NA motor 0 is all it will hit, if it is boosted...u know how it goes. ;D |
Re:when is there vaccum?
like they said, when your car is na, you will always be in vacuum unless you're at wot, in which case it will read '0', but when you get boosted, you'll be in vacuum until the the turbo spools up and starts making positive manifold pressure, aka, boost ;D
