what's wrong with my h22a1?

Okay, it started with boost, after finally settling on a setup, an fmax style manifold, a t3 .63 housing with a stage 3 wheel, and a t4 compressor .60, an inline fuel pump, a jrsc fmu, deltagate mark II wastegate, 2.5" downpipe, 2"charge pipe from compressor to the intercooler and 2.5" from the intercooler to the TB and a simple check valve setup.
At one point, my old turbo siezed up so I drove it around with the charge piping disconnected and once it would hit vtec, it would sound like complete ass. This is when I had the 2" piping. Anyway, if you've ever heard a type R's vtec it was about twice as loud and annoying but you wouldn't even feel any power increase at all. Once the charge piping is connected however, the sound is pretty much normal.

On top of this, we took my car to the dyno and at 7 psi, I was making actually less hp then stock! I made about 145 or so whp and once vtec kicked in it would stat to sputter and the af would be all over the place! and my power was all wonky going up and down so the operator of the dyno told me to shut it down. I didn't even make it past 6000rpm.

After that, we disconnected the vtec solenoid and I was able to actually rev up to 6000 rpm but my engine seems kinda finicky.

The only thing that was half decent was the torque which was not flat at all! It climbed to about 4000 or so rpm and made about 184 ft/lb and then started to fall. I'll post up some dyno charts and I'm hoping some smart people out there can help me out! thanks.

here are the dyno charts and bot hof them are at 7 psi:

This one is with VTEC (I did one run before with vtec but it was really bad that we shut it down pretty quick:

This is when we disconnected the vtec solenoid and I was able to rev to about 6 K:

again, any input into why my car is acting the way it is, please help me. Could it have something todo with the vtec solenoid itself? Why is there no power once vtec hits and why is it sputtering so much with VTEC?? thanks again.

could timing be why this is like the way it is? I just got back from talking with a buddy about it and he also suggested that the timing belt could be off. He said that on his b16 (while in N/A) the timing belt was a bit off and the vtec sound was horrbile, it was a lot louder but there was no difference in power. He then moved the timing to the appropriate setting and it was back to normal. I'm just wondering if my timing could be that off and is it possible for it to slip to a different setting while in use.

i think your friend might be right.. get the timing checked... either way, can't hurt.

Did it work fine w/o the turbo.. u ran the lude NA?

Your running WAY TO ------- LEAN, look at ur dyno sheet, its in access of 20:1 Air to fuel, time to add more fuel.. thats why when vtec kicks in it does that, not enough fuel..

i never saw that on the dyno. So i looked again. You're right, when vtec hits BANG goes way lean.

oh wait a second.

he was told to get off the throttle and the ecu goes lean when your coasting. w/ foot OFF the gas.

;)

The a/f's are actually written in red on the side!! haha, I'm actually, running in the 11's for a/f.

I don't see anything indicating you are running in the 11's. It looks like you are all over the place and nothing is consistant. That dyno is hard to read. :-\

ya thats some thing really wrong dude check the timing and fuel system. you are running that motor into the ground with a/f's that lean.

if i were you i would take it back to n/a and then fix the problem.. fmu = fucks motor up.. do yourself a favor and get some real fuel management.. the rest of your setup looks awesome but that fmu sucks ass.
