Whats the deal with leaky wastegates?

So doing Silent Dan's install with the SS Autochrome wastegate, I had the dumptube unhooked and noticed that at idle, it was dumping exhaust from the wastegate.

Not surprising, I figure ok, shitty ss auto wastegate, no biggie.

So we order a brand spankin new Tial from Mike at LSD Motorsports, by the way buy his stuff, he's the ----.

Yesterday I bolt this wastegate up (yes with the fire ring and a gasket), and start the car. Sure enough same result, its dumping exhaust out the wastegate dumptube side of the wastegate.

The wastegate still works, hold boost solid, and spools decent enough for a car with a cat still in the exhaust. So what the hell is up? Any ideas? I have a hard time believing that I got two ---- wastegates in a row.

Hmm that's interesting, I've never ran a WG without a dump to even have a chance to look at it. As long as it holds boost I've never felt the need I guess.

well i just tuned him to 10psi, it spools quick and holds it, so ---- it i guess.

he has a recirculated wastegate dump anyways, so ill just leave it be.
