I bought a junkyard turbo just to get a compressor housing. Unfortunately, the seals leaked and the oil pooled and turned into a form of tar in the snail shell. Whats the best way to get this out?

 

Carb cleaner or brake cleaner will do.

 

yup that and a small wire brush if it's really caked on there.

 

Okay, I tried some brake cleaner and it worked GOOD!!! I just hope it doesn't damage the ARV valve. :P

 

Simple Green *****! The blue ---- is super concentrated and doesn't leave a residue like the brake or carb cleaner.

 

damn thats one thing i use all the time. execpt on my windows or paint.haha but good luck running it

 

believe it or not simple green is corosive as ----

 

thus my wishing him good luck.... and green?? ya soylent green...

 

clean with acetone rally good and throw it in the dishwasher and use electrosol dishwasher detergent ur mom will love yah

 

best thing every is fill a bucket wit simple green or purple power or something simler and add water! and let your parts soke over night and it will come out like new! me and my buddy's do blocks head ect... that way and it works GREAT!!!!
