what type of oil does everyone use?
 
like title says what type of oil does everyone use on there turbod d series?

IM getting ready to switch to mobil 1 10w30 synthetic

Thats what I run too. It's probably your best choice for oil.

yup, same here. mobile 1 10w30 fully synth. i used to use 5w30, but since turbo i switched to the 10w30.

currently breaking in my motor with 5w30 pennzoil, gonna change over to mobil1 10w30 soon

just changed my oil and running like a champ on mobil 1 10w30 full synthetic

uh, i use castrol stnyec 10-30.... does that leave me out ? ::)

While we're on the topic of oil, I've always had a question. Do you have to put any extra oil in to accomodate for the turbo?

It should need enough extra to fill the volume in the turbo and feed/return lines. Just fill it to the mark on the dipstick. As for Castrol GTX, that is what I'm using now, but after everything is installed I plan to run full synthetic. Should hold up better under the higher heat, and i don't want to take chances.
