What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
I produce a lot of different flanges and currently have 5 different T3 inlet flanges avialable but i want to know which type to stock the most of... what do you most builders out there use or prefer? heres what i offer...
T3 Flange Threaded 304 Stainless 1/2" T3 Flange Threaded Mild Steel 1/2" T3 Flange Non-Threaded 304 Stainless 1/2" T3 Flange Non-Threaded Mild Steel 1/2" T3 Flange Non-Threaded 304 Stainless 3/8" There all CNC cut. Heres pictures of a few of them. T3 Flange Threaded 304 Stainless 1/2" http://www.exploitedracing.com/T3-In...aded-304SS.JPG T3 Flange Threaded Mild Steel 1/2" http://www.exploitedracing.com/MildsteelT3threaded.JPG T3 Flange Non-Threaded 304 Stainless 3/8" http://www.exploitedracing.com/T3Fla...hick-304SS.JPG Basically T3 flanges, nothing to special. But this is more or less a survey of whats most demanded since i dont stock to many at the moment... generally about 30-40 at most at a time. But i want to stock more of whats wanted to keep up with demand. Prices are not listed here but if your curious about them goto my site. |
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
id have to say ummmmmm
whats with all the serveys today? id go will 1/2 mild steel non-threaded what do i win? |
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
uhh win? i dunno.
|
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
i like to use threaded ones, never had a problem with 3/8
|
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
I was gonna go with the stainless 3/8, but on my first mani I am gonna give mild steel a shot. If it goes well, I'll coat it and use it, and maybe someday to another and go stainless.
If I were going all out. I would do the 1/2" stainless threaded stuff. ;D how long til my stuff arrives anyways? |
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
Eh, probably about 4-5 more days, were 100% out of good end mills so i cant machine ANYTHING until some new ones arrive. theres more to making flanges than you guys would ever think. I have the T3 flange instock though.

Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
hey man, what size end mills do you use?
I work in a production machine shop type deal, we literally change endmills every 50 parts and they are never chipped or discoloured. I really dont know much about the coatings we have, only sizes. We have plenty of 3/8", 10mm ---- load of inserts to. I could always throw some endmills in a box and send em your way if we have the size you use |
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
I use a lot of 1/2" fine tooth roughers for cutting stainless steel and 1/2" rougher/finishers for mild steel.
The thing with used end mills is that they dont chip or discolor they dull out and leave nasty burs on the metal. |

Ya burrs and steps in bores
I make a piece for Vipers and if one bad part is sent, the entire shipment is quarantined and for every minute we shut down GM's assembly line its like $1200, serious ---- |

**HIJACK**;D The pictures you have look like professional pictures. you have the yellow light up top then you have a blue accent light on the side with the table fading off into the background. With a nice quality camera. You take those?
|
Re:What T3 Flanges are most prefered/demanded?
yes i took all of them and acually there very unprofessional but turn out very nice... the lighting from above that appears "yellow" is just my office lights in the shop, the black surface they sit on... is my computer desk... and "blue accent light" on the left.. is the computer moniter. I use a older sony cybershot camera. 3.1Megapixels but only take pictures at VGA (640x480) resolution!
who wouldve guessed? Also i do not use HSS end mills, i use Cobalt. |
