What to look for in a CRX?

I am now considering jsut buying a crx body and doing a motor swap and leaving my 99 accord alone. I would probably jsut work on the crx until i could afford insurance on it and until it was ready to run. What key things do i look for in a CRX ?? I am sure this has been posted but i never planned on buying a CRX until now. I would not even have to care about blowing the motor. PLus my 99 accord is still under warranty i think. Any help would be welcomed.

rust by the top of the windshield, back fenders and sunroof

cancer spots.

if your gonna be putting it in the garage and doing a swap dont worry about the engine really, check all the gears, grinds etc. the basic stuff.

rust is the main thing.

try to get one from the southern us. texas, socal and arizona are best.. its hard to get one with low rust. its worth paying extra for one in good condition. Watch for rust around sunroof, windshield, below gas cap, above wheel wells, and most important subframe. You might want to put it up on jacks and look at the subframe for rust and watch for frame flex/sagging when you put it up/down.

i know ebay is riddiculous, but ive seen a couple si's with like 72k, etc. it sold for like 3500, but thats not a lot for a car with that little mileage. i know of a couple people here and there in texas who were asking like 3500-4000 for si's with between 27-48k. nice low mileage crx's do exist :)

Dig for deals. Last winter I paid $400 for my 87 CRX SI. Unfortunately, It's no longer with us. It's a shame, I would have sold it to you for $400, too.

dude thats a 87 .. ---- model ... i got a 89 w/zc/clutch/flywheel/tons of rust for 1500 .. bit of a ripoff and a 90 si for 800 w/blown motor/ light body damage/ no rust.

my friend has a 89 for sale that the engine smokes on startup for 1000. it has a few non-rice aftermarket parts on it too.

but ebay prices are bullshut for what u get thats where i got the 89.. it was supposedly in good condition but i got ripped off they painted over tons of bondo, and has MAD unibody rust. But i'm parting it out soon so i will get my money.
