what kind a turbo is it

i have a turbo from a 88 rx7 and i put it in my crx, its a d15b2 with si convertion and i installed that turbo and it spools but i get no boost on the boost gauge i checked all the charge lines for a leak and nothing i installed the charge line direct to the intake manifold and no boost i dont even hear the BOV.
is the turbo to big or what what kind is it
what does it handle or what can i do

here is what it says on the turbo

HT18S - 2S / N370 / 9J3718

i dont know what that is
thanks you all

exaust restriction? run it open downpipe and see what that does for you.

sooo do you feel anything? (boost).

Re: what kind a turbo is it

I'm already running it open down pipe since the beginning. It's working to some degree because my time dropped from 16.8 to 15.2 like nothing. But it still doesn't mark any substantial boost on the gauqe.I think the turbo is too big. any hints as too what kind it might be? Or any solutions?

well obviously if you're time dropped that much, then the turbo is functioning a little. how many pounds/bars does the gauge read.. Where do you have you're boost gauge tee'd into? Try the FPR. :y see if ya get any difference.

i have it "t" off to the bov and the intake manifold and the boost gauge only reads one so i have no idea its dawm frustating

Re: what kind a turbo is it

well.. if you're blow off valve isnt going off and your boost isnt reading and they're both connected to the same vaccuum line.. make sure that the line is in the manifold ;)...

A bov goes off when the pressure from the manifold (vacuum line), and the charge pressure suddenly changes. Both the forces are pushing aganst the release valve (NOTE*** the vaccuum line has an advantage b/c of a coiled spring inside the bov pushing the valve shut)... like if you were trying to push a car forward, and your friend is trying to push a car backwards.. the valve is staying neutral.. When the throttle plate closes, the vaccum line pressure immediately drops. So the charge pressure can overpower the other force opening the valve and suddenly all the charged air is released into the atmosphere.

So if the vaccum hose is not connected to the manifold, that would be an extremlely good reason for no blow off sound and a pretty much no reading on the Boost gauge.. But i think u said it reads 1 psi.. maybe its barely attatched =].. anyways take a look.. or if you dont see nething, take a pic of the vaccuum line running from the bov, Tee-d off for the boost gauge, and to the manifold, and me or someone might spot something wrong.

LATER.

Re: what kind a turbo is it

k... first off where u wrote "bov gauge" im guessing u meant boost gauge.. and secondly is that vacuum line? or is just rubber hosing that would fit.. because vaccuum hose can withstand the suction of vaccum without caving in..

AND.. IS THAT JUST LEFT UNPLUGGED?!!! OR IS IT PLUGGED WITH SOMETHING?
