What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
I have an adapter plate stamped hf/t3 on it. I just bought a turbo from ****** and he told me it was a t3 42/48. How come my adapter plate is waaay bigger than it is suppose to be and none of the holes line up? Thanks

Zoom in on the black section.
|
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
what do you mean? Do you mean the exaust port section. cause it just says .48 in there.

England?
That K stamp makes me wonder.... |
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**

as soon as i saw that color i knew it was from a cat. Looks like a KKK turbo, and i would rock it over a 42/48 IF you can get that adapter plate to work a little better so there isnt a huge bottleneck in the exhaust with that circular hole in the rectangular slot...

Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
Looks like a nice turbo.
Is it ball bearing? It's got those cool ports around the compressor wheel that I've only seen on BB turbos. I would definately rock it. You just need to figure out a way to make the flange work, that's definately not a standard T3, but it doesn't look small enough to be a T25 or large enough to be a T4. Who knows. |

Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
that will not help with my adapter plate issue.
|
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
How much material do you have to work with on the exhaust housing? i.e. how thick is it near the flange.
Here's what you do, weld the adapter plate onto your turbo because those bolt holes are worthless now. Port the turbine housing as much as possible without making it too thin. AND you should've known better than thinking it's a .42 compressor housing, way too big. |

I like yellow turbos btw
|
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
yea idk, i would rather just get a legit t3. probobly a 48/60 instead. i dont want to mess around and ghetto righ ---- if i dont have to. and by the looks of it, there is not enough matierial on the exaust to bore it out to the shape of the adapter plate.

he is a good guy I'm sure he'll make it right if not like i told you on aim he'll get tea bagged.
|
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
Hard to believe someone would sell that as a T3.
|
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
yea, hopefully this will be sent back to him. i really dont wanna mess around with welding an adapter plate to it. i hvae enough fabbing ahead of me. hmm
|
Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
i sincerely doubt that the turbo is ball bearing. Those grooves around the compressor inlet are anti surge grooves, they prevent compressor surge

I wasn't specific enough I guess, I meant that turbo's housing is much larger than a typical 42/48's comp. housing.

I love caterpillar yellow. It's right up there with Hitachi orange for colors i one day need to paint a vehicle.

Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
Why dont you just make a adapter plate or have one cut?It doesnt take much to make one and I bet that turbo would be good to use.

Re: What the hell is up with this?? **pics**
Problem solved, I bought it off of him tonight and I've got a perfect manifold to weld that bitch to.
