Sounds like the wastegate opening up when ur friend is hitting full boost. My friends also has a ext. wg with a dump tube and it sounds exactly the same

 

WG ?? if it was the WG shouldn’t it be a much louder noise. I have a 14b that has a ext. dump tube and it sound WAY louder than that.

Anyways, If he goes full throttle and it hits max boost, It sounds like a flapping noise. In the video you an hear it flap also.
I am not surprised it so loud. But I wasnt sure if the flapping sound is good or bad.

you guys are morons. Think, if your wastegate is set to x ammount of pressure (we'll say 7 lbs) and the noise isn't there at 4 but occurs around 7, then what do you think it is. It's obviously the wastegate, mine sounded the exact same.

I always had internal wastegate, so I am not used to external.

So, is this noise normal or bad? Sometimes you can here the wastegate flap, I thought it maybe thats its leaking or something.
