hi , as in my earlier thread (finally boosted but.....) I finally got round to taking the turbo off today, to discover that the actual turbine on the end of the shaft had the corners gone! and ------ oil everywhere, all over the turbo dripping out the downpipe when i took it off and just everywhere!

What could of caused this? have i disturbed something when i clocked the oil feeds? to much oil pressure or what?

I've brought that last post to the top so you guys can see it.I'd already posted the new topic before i thought to add it onto the old one sorry!

Maybe the turbo wasnt balanced properly when it was rebuilt and as a result of that the turbine blades have made contact with part of the housing clipping the edges off!!

Were you running with a filter or a screen when you went on your test drive boosted? maybe you could have sucked up some ---- into the turbine?

 

yep i was running a filter.
