What ever happen to the LS/VTec ?
I remember reading that the LS/VTec you guys did cracked a cyclinder wall when you guys raced it but what exactly happen and why did it happen. If I'm right you guys were pushing like w 10-12PSi with a kind of built motor... I didn't think 10-12 was that much or correct me if I'm wrong about any of the above things. I'm just woundering cause after I finish my turbo ZC project ( I almost finishing now ) I'd like to switch and go with a CR-VTec or LS/VTec since I'm done and come to known alot about the ZC's and want to try my hands at B series. What can I do or what can be done to prevent something like that happening or was it just a freak accident.

ummmmm... i think about 14lbs. of boost cracked the block, he just had the stock ls internals in the block

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH..... that makes alot more sense. I thought they had forged pistons, rods, and all that good stuff.

Re:What ever happen to the LS/VTec ?
Stock block, stock pistons, stock rods, etc... stock stock
I pushed it a tad high, it could have done more on stock internals, but my car was only tuned for 12psi. Detonation killed the block, not weak internals. Jeff |
