alright, i've got my autoshop teacher telling me to buy a real flange cuz my donut and flared pipe isn't good enough, but now im realising there isn't much difference in ability to hold in boost without a sealer of some kind. and then i've got a couple friends who are telling me to just wrap it in a silicone coupler and clamp the bitch down on the turbo and on the chargepiping.

what do i do? what have you guys used to connect the turbo outlet (compressor side) to your charge piping?

well the outlet is an oval shape, like a flange.

left is the turbo and drawing of the outlet, right is the donut and flared pipe that i currently have

 

you are prolly going to want to get the flange for that, or just cut the flange off the turbo and just coupler it....

so go with a flange then? (weir - $15) but, what's to prevent it from leaking boost? or is this one of those things where i should probably use a gasket for once

 

flange should fit cleanly on the turbo, just toss some hondabond/sealant between them and you'll be good to go.
