On a h22 powered hatch, using a td05 (1st gen dsm) boosting around 5-8psi blah, blah, blah..... Ive aquired all used parts for free: turbo, intercooler, bov ect... So far all Ive spent has been cash for the manifold. You guys think Im wasting my time with this turbo?

for 5-8psi it will be just nice... instant spool, and you'll haul mad ***.

 

You might have problems in the upper RPM ranges in second+ gears, the wastegate may be opening to soon with it set at 8 psi (bleeding boost).
My logic is that I have a td04 turbo, running on a 1.6L engine and set at 10 psi, it bleeds a little at 5900 RPM (from 10-9-10-11-10-9) and you can really feel it. Your engines got more displacement so ... yeah
For your h22s, I'd say just bone up the cash and go up to a T3/T4...

 

I'm sorry now that I'm thinking bout it an external wastegate might be a good solution to instead of a whole new turbo.

 

external wastegate and t3/t4 would be ideal though

 

If you wanna get rid of the turbo let me know.

 

Your going to have a ---- ton of torque
