what compressions best
I'm building a ls b18a. all stock exept pistons and rods. already have a set of eagle rods and its time to order the piston. See I know the lower the compression the safer to boost but at what point is the compression so low it hurts overall performace. I'm looking to boost as much as possible and make the most power i can on stock sleeves but its my daily drive and can't affored to blow agin. it's runig a t3t4. So please give me some insight.

Re: what compressions best
9:1 is perfect.. not a slug out of boost and good hard pull in boost

Re: what compressions best
I would say nine is perfect but i read a article last month(somewhere on the web)about a dude who blew his 9 compression motor, built a replica except with a 8 compression. Results were like 2% less effectiant @ i dentical boost.
but then they tunred up to boost op the 8 comp and Owned... |

(excluding the sleeve issues) i wouldnt go lower than about 7:1 though as you might have trouble starting it below that. 8:1 should be good for about 30psi on 98ron/93aki 9:1 good for 15psi or so. point being that the negative aspects of going lower are grossly overstated virtually everywhere on the net... |
