I kinda like the way the greddy type S squeeks, sounds like a laser or soemthing... does anyone have any opinions on the turbo rfl bov? does it just sound like a whoosh? thanks

Now im running a type s. Its better. If you adjust it just right it whooshes more than whistles.

Cant go wrong with a Bosch. Easy to hook up, cheap as balls and...well cheap as balls $40 max for a brand new one. $5 from a junkyard off a vw/audi/saab/porsche

I have an RFL on my car but I would really like to get a Type S, the Type S sounds a lot better IMO.

Ricers ------- Love the RFL. Its the most popular BOV just becuase of its name and truthfully it isn't that loud at all

My cheap 40 dollar egay BOV with a lighter spring works awsome. Can actually be a little loud but has a really nice psssssssssss sound! I think it a TEC or something.

Ive only dealt with the type s and you can make it sound quite a few different ways with adjustment. Ive never heard a bad blow off valve, but maybe i just love that damn sound to much

i have the HKS ssqv. i like it a lot. being that it's sequential, it's like having two bovs in one. at .5 psi and below it flutters and from .5 to 1 bar it makes a psssshh-ssseeeeoooowww (from psshh to whistle). this weekend i plan on sticking a kazoo in my bov to see what kinda crazy sound i can get out of if. psshhhhh-zzhhhhewwww!!!

it'll prolly sound like a neptunes bov.

i like the greddy type s. u can adjust the way it sounds when you tighten or loosen the top. if u loosen it far enough. it'll sound like a diesel truck. its fucken loud. i dont like the way the rfl sounds.

I like my Type S. I have mine tight so it makes the "cracking whip sound". If you tighten it too much it you'll hear some compressor surge.

I had a 1G DSM on too and it had the "wwwwhhhhoooooosssshhh" sound.

i have volvo bov and i put 2 zip ties on and it makes a whooooooshttsssssssssssssss.sound and it got louder it sounds like 2 bovs...more high pitch

I ran a type-s prior to putting on an RFL. I found that I was having engine idle problems with the type-s because you have to connect a vacuum to the intake manifold as well as to the turbos manifold - otherwise it doesn't open the valve up correctly.

I didn't like the noise it made, it seemed ... gay. Plus it was always needing to be adjusted, the nut would keep rattling itself loose from the vibrations of the engine.

I put the RFL on and didn't have any problems except when under low boost (the BOV is not designed for handling less then 10 psi so you realllllllly gotta shrink that spring if you want it to not flutter). But I honestly think it sounds better, sounds more threatening, like a dumptruck coming to squish ya.

I love my TurboXS RFL bov. Everybody tells me my car sounds really good with the exhaust an bov I have. It's also really fun blowing off next to people just to get a reaction. I was going by some high school yesterday when I was out of town and I bet there were 100 people just standing outside and I think everybody looked when I blew off lol. I always love racing people on the freeway too and blowing off right by their window as I am passing them. Hell I even blow off when I am by myself if I am really bored. Tunnels are fun too. ;D

My BOV also drinks corona though, so maybe that's why it is so cool. :P

hm.. turbo rfl is cheaper.. i might sell my greddy type s to get the turbo rfl seeing as i got my greddy type s for free.. maybe i shoulda made this a poll.. type s or turbo rfl.. decisions decisions

I like the Greddy type R and the Tial 50mm, both have a pretty unique sound, and are on more of the high end of blow off valves.
