Well I got my wastegate today and there is a line that I don't know what it's for. I'll post a pic showing what I mean. There is a nipple for vacuum but then there is a big nipple, that is what I'm talking about. Oh yeah the wastegate is off an Audi. This is in another topic but not to clear there and is mainly a top showing the pics of the wastegate itself. Hope someone knows what it's for....

 

I think you would use the bottom line and not the top line. I don't think it will ever release if you feed VAC/boost into the top line. I could be wrong though.

 

This is just a complete guess, but could it be a computer controlled boost controller? The car's computer controls the vac/boost going to that side to control the boost higher or lower to cancel out the other side's action.
Did anyone understand what I just said?

Yeah that makes sence. The air needs a place to go. So it is bled off through that nipple. I would think that you need that bottom one. Come to think of it none of my friends have used the top one either.

 

Sweet sounds good, so I just have to find a 3/8" vacumn source now. The line is pretty big that is why it is throwing me off.

did u drill out the top of the cap to find the adjustable hex screw?

 

Never drilled it out yet, my uncle has some spring in his shop that look identical to the wastegate spring. I'm gonna try it and see if I can lower the boost.
Does anyone know how to check the wastegate to see how many psi it is set at? Just so I can set it before it goes onto the car, it'll be easier now than taking it off a million times while its hot.
