Default wg go bad?!

hey guys,

i have a d16y8 with a 14b jrc ic, hack and dsm 450's. i need to know if my waste gate could be bad.

like i clocked the compressor housing so the wastegate bolt holes would line up with the bolt holes on the compressor housing. so like i put it on and i got 1psi of boost. then i put some washers between the waste gate and compressor housing. to pull on the flapper in the exhaust more, and that got it so it would spool at 4k to about 9psi. and that lasted for awhile, and then it went back to like getting to 8psi at 6k...and then i put some more washers on it and now it get to 9psi at about 5k...so could the wastegate be bad? no exhaust or boost leaks. lemme know any ideas. thanks guys.

yes wastegates can go bad. sometimes the folded lip can have a leak, which you can crimp tighter with a vise. but the seal could be torn inside and you would need to buy another.

Test it.

Pull the arm out,put your finger over the nipple and let go.If it sucks your fingr its still good.If it doesnt the the diaphran is toast.
