Default WG Gasket and that Loctite stuff....

So I'll be done with school next Wednesday and I'm trying to get all my little stuff together so I can start working on it and have it ready for JK by that weekend. Long story short, I can't remember the name, but we all argued about in GD not to long ago (Jon you should know what I'm talking about). It was gasket sealent stuff that people used on there WG flanges to seal the mating instead of a standard gasket. I can't recall what that stuff is called for one and two who has done and will it work fine?

Cliff Notes: Gasket sealent stuff as replacement to WG metal gasket. You've done it, post up.

Permatex? You posted up that pic of it. Looks very similar to loctite. Haha, but funny how you mention it because anyone that reads my posts or yours about HG replacement know you "rock" it.

I'd say permatex cause the bottle looks like a loctite bottom.

W0rd, thanks. Have you ever used it in the application I'm talking about? Just making sure it won't burn up and leak.

I know they have the copper spray that you use for like headgaskets and I thought that's what you were looking for but I noticed they also make a copper silicone gasket maker also. THough it says it's only good up to 700 intermittently. EGT's can get almost 1000 degrees above that.
Here's their list of gasket makers

Here's the spray stuff

Thanks. See that red RTV is what I've heard being used, but the copper sealant says for turbo/high performance engines. I'm with you though, EGTs get around 1400-1600*. I'll probably get that copper sealent stuff, the maker not the spray and see if I can get lucky with it. Thanks alot for those links man.

How long has this been? Like both of us said, EGTs can easily double that.
