Default went to the track....

set up is a stock b16 with .48/.60 t3 8 psi, tuned turbo edit and 450's,bfg drag radials, in a crx, to say the least it was the most dissapointing day of my life, couldnt get the car any faster than 14.9@103 mph! wheel hop owns in this situation, old *** coil over and worn out stock struts with no traction bars own me. even with the drag radials i couldnt get traction or get the wheels to stop hoping untill mid third gear were talking 3.0+ 60 foots no matter how i launched it....the traps are there for mid 13 second runs, unfortunatly the traction wasnt...oh well hopefully i have the suspention beefed up and can pull off 13's next spring....

that launch takes practice, but come on man, a 103 trap speed is no joke. Sounds pretty good for a first run.

wow 3.0 60 footers? might as well start off in 2nd gear, lol. I'd definatly suggest on practice launching, play with tire pressure, practice burnouts etc. The best traction control device of all is get a bigger turbo, that little .48/.60 is probably making that b16a alot of torque on the low end.

HA! So did I.

I was suprised I was even under 3s for my first time. LOL. Anyway, I can't believe you hopped THAT much and with slicks. Are you like launching at an incredibly high RPM? That car is MUCH faster than that. I pulled 14.8 at 99mph. So I mean, we're in the same boat, except mine was on streets. None the less, I can't drive and need to to get the ETs down to where they should be with my high traps. Same SEEMS for you. On slicks, hmmmmm. Wow, how does that even happen? I read the post just, wow. Good luck and keep us all posted.

i dunno wtf? maybe i just suck at driving, i never thought i did, but i guess that shows when you go to the track....and my wheel hop is soooo bad that the ------' shift rods hit the floorboard when i launch!!!! i may be starting a different project soon, this one will be a newer 96+ hatch with a boosted mini-me though, im gonna explore the world of SOHC i've always had b-series, but there were guys with sohc's running better than me at the track, and sohc ---- is wayyyyyy cheaper....oh and my launch is at 5,000 rpm building about 2 psi sitting still with 28 psi in the tires and the tires are bfg g force t/a drag's sized 205/50/16..im tired of my junky old crx though i need to build something newer and nicer....

Your boosted b16a should smoke the living ---- out of a turbo mini-me. Reguardless if you change projects you will still need to learn how to drive.
