well, I finally f---ed it up.
 

About a year ago, I finally finished my turbo project. Its a d15b7 longblock w/p28 ecu, log mani, t3 42/48 trim, 3inch turbo back, 30x8x3 fmic, dsm 450s, ngk 1 step colder plugs, tuned w/uberdata by a renowned source on 7 psi.

It ran pretty good, never really dogged the hell out of it, and it ran a 13.5 w good traction in the 1/4. Anyways, I let it sit for about 3 mos, and now it burns oil like a mofo, I took off the turbo and ran it with open header to see if the turbo went bad, but it still burned. I've heard of a few reasons it might do that, but I'm not sure. Anyone else w exp. In this field who could tell me what to expect as the problem? Thanks

do a compression test or leakdown if you can get it.
i guess rings or ringlands.

Wait so it was fine until you stored it and then it smoked when you fired it up? Sounds like valve stem seals.

either valve seals or stuck rings. cylinders are not the same size from top to bottom. the rings at the bottom can get stuck slightly smaller than the cyllinder size at the top. just run the piss out of it. it should clear up

Does it smoke when you are hitting the gas? If it is it is more then likely your rings

so i'm assuming you didn't put any sort of oil in the cylinders before you stored it :-X

----, those two, the ring lands and valve stems are the 2 things I heard b4. I was ------- with another car, and bullshit for 3 months. So u think running the hell out of it will do the trick? how long should I do that for? And for the other question about when it happens, it happens after it warms up.

I'm thinking if it was the ringlands, it's prob because of the dizzy, but its lined up in the middle of the alignment slots, and the timings retarded a 1/2 degree per pound of boost, and I was only boosting 7. The plugs were gapped at .275, and somtimes it backfires, but I thought that's because of a sticky throttle cable :P

So a comp test would be the next step here, right?
