Default Well, I broke something today.

Well, after friday's excusion at the track, my hatch has been, well, ticking. I ran a compression and leakdown test on her today, and I got 155lbs compression and 12% leakdown on cylinders #1-3, and 120lbs compression and 70% leakdown on cylinder #4. So, either I melted a ring land, a ring, or the ring is seized. Either way, it's got the thing rattling to beat hell. This sucks.

Sounds familiar. I did the same thing at the track. Before I went my compression was 180 across the board. Once I left it was 180 on three and 100 on one

If you rip your engine apart you'll probably see this:

Broken ring lands.

yeah running 13 psi daily on stock bottom end has it's drawbacks...but who cares I'm goin to do the same got me some good fuel here RON 98.
And no matter what other people say..it's octane 98.
My dad works at a oil refinary. he worked for shel and works for the Venezuelan oil company..who provides most of it's gas to the states. He sai RON means...I forgot what the R was for well the O is for Octane and the N for Number
R...Octane Number. maybe registeres octane number...? well gonna ask him later when he's online.

Sadly, I have a built bottom end. I'm expecting to see broken ring lands, or if I'm lucky, just a seized ring, but we all know it's ring lands. Oh well, nothing like a $500 set of arias pistons GONE. Now I'll just have to bore it and put new, bigger slugs in it. At least it'll get rid of that goddamn piston slap.

Ironically, it runs fine, and there is no oil cloud. I'm gonna take her to the track next friday, and just take it easy (i.e, no full throttle shifts, conservative launch).

I'm pretty sure when she popped out of gear and hit the rev limiter for 3 seconds straight that the fuel cut did her in. Nothing like running super lean at 8k
