yup

Re: welding turbo
cool...i was just checking cuz i know i've heard different opinions about welding to a cast manifold and i wasn't sure about the turbo....i'm just gonna weld on an adapter plate to make things easier

Re: welding turbo
you might want to heat the cast with a torch and then weld it, jit'll help you get good penetration

Re: welding turbo
make sure you use Ni-rod (high Nickel content) for cast iron, heat it up to >300F beforehand, weld it in stitches, and beat it with a hammer as it cools. Cool it slowly (eg in the oven)

Re: welding turbo
thanks guys...i'm gonna heat it up...and i have to look at my spool to see what nickel content i have...but thatnks for the info

Re: welding turbo
I just use good ol' 6013 rod and laid down 2-3 good HOT beads per side. 4 months of boosting and no cracks

Re: welding turbo
yea..i only need it to hold until about july august...thats when i'm planning on droping in a new engine
