Welding/OilPan Question?
 
Is the oilpan made of aluminum? Or is it steel? Can i weld a piece of metal pipe for oil return? dont want to melt the oilpan you know. ;D

it dependson the year ofyour motor, OBD2 oil pans are aluminum, whereas OBD1/0 oil pans are stamped steel

Correct me if i'm wrong guys

either way JBweld will work good enough, unless you just wanna be cooler then I am and have a welded oilpan 8)

Really... I saw a y7 the other day that was aluminum... you sure you dont have a hybrid oil pan ;)

hmmm...maybe ill bust out a magnet on it, but if its aluminum its the heaviest aluminum ive ever felt :-\

you see, I dont want the JBWeld to come out after a year or so. I want a permanent oil return without worrying that eventually it will come out.
