weight of mani and turbo!!!
Alright guys i'm fixin to start my turbo setup and one thing I am concerned with is the weight of the turbo and manifold!! I will be running a 14b with hf manifold and homemade adapter plate. To me this thing is very heavy put together and i was concerned with the manifold studs holding this thing up..is there anything i can do to support this weight or will the studs be fine??
people do it all the time with out bracing or anything you should be fine but you could get some exhausts studs from arp or use some stronger grade bolts...maybe make a brace to help support the weight, i don't think you'll have any problems
Thanks guys...from looking around I have seen no braces or anything of that sorts used..but feeling this thing seems like it would rip the bolts out hahah..but i will give her a try and see what happens
He hf mani has those little brace thingy's on the bottom, (i think, mine does but i got it off a vx) Just bolt them to the block, i wouldnt think you would have any problems if you didnt though.
Haha yea i guess people are running a considerable amount of weight on some setups...thanks for all the imput...hopefully you guys can anwser all my questions this good when i really get started!!!
