water cool a nissan turbo

so i have a nissan 60 trim t3 turbo.
What if i only run oil to it and forgo water cooling?
will it lead to longevity issues?
could it cause coking?

or is the water cooling there because it is a production turbo and they don't want their customers to need to replace the turbo after 10 years?

yeh, i know man. what right do i have with asking a question like this, it's much better that people rail me out, than to take the same amoutn of time and answer the question, that is of course assuming you know the answer.
i know i don't have to run water, but i am asking about the implications of not running water. I want to know from experience that someone has.

they made them both oil/water cooled for the reason you stated. They wanted them to last a good long while without burning up. the only reason youd ever need it is if you like to rip the ---- out of your system for awhile and shut it down as soon as you park your ride
it does promote longjevity and yet also does allowing your car to run for a couple of min when you get where the ---- ever it is your going
all in all its not "needed" at all but its your system run it or not its your call O0

aight, that i did.
i guess that's why my post count is so low, i know that water holds heat more efficiently there for allowing the turbo to cool more gradually once the car is shut off, there for preventing coking of the oil.
