Wastgate Set-up...
i have a T-25 that has an internal wastegate, we all know that the T-25 wastegate is set at 8psi, well i have it routed back into the compressor and i'm only seeing 6psi of it.... well, i want more! i found a replacement wastegate that is a 17psi replacement, http://linux.forcedperformance.net/m...egory_Code=DSM it's $99... if it's set for 17 and i route it to the compressor, what will i be seeing? is it worth buying it? i thought about picking up a turbosmart MBC, but i figured if i just got the wastegate i wouldnot have to mess with it or worry about it spiking....
what do you think? any input would be cool. |

Re: Wastgate Set-up...
Between my wastegate and boost controller, I can hold 8 pounds.
Because of space constraints, I cannot run a real filter, so I cut a piece of a cone filter and clamped it over my inlet. I also made one with just a screen. The first one had a piece of filter paper sandwiched between 2 screens. When it got super dirty as ----, it boosted 2 whole pounds and nothing more. When I switched to just a screen, I'm back to 8 pounds. What I'm getting at is if something isn't working right, find out why--specifically. Otherwise you could end up buying a new wastegate and still boost at 6#. |
Re: Wastgate Set-up...
t25's can push 17psi for like a week or so. there efficiency is around 14-15psi n thats safe tops. any higher and its over boosting. jus make a boost controler bro, why buy an entire new wg jus to raise the boost. sometimes u get pressure drop in ur ic n piping, what size ic are you running?

Re: Wastgate Set-up...
when limited on space, use a k&n style motorcycle filter. thats what i have on my k26. it does reduce preformance more than likely, i dont nkow because ive never had a regular filter. but, id rather haev that than none or a screen and my motor/turbo die.
+ the filter was free, i snagged it off my old blown up rat bike sean |
