wastegate won't open

My wastegate won't open so I took off my manual boost controller and conected the line from the compressor houseing to the wastegate so it would open at 8lbs like stock (t-25) and it still doesnt open. Just can't see the reason behind this. I made sure the wastegate wasent stuck and nothing was in the way of the arm.

Re:wastegate won't open

Test the wastegate by pushing the actuator rod in(so the diaphram pushes the air out),plug the hole with your finger and let the rod go.If it holds then the wastegate is ok.If it springs back then your wastegate is toast.

Actually you would PULL it out. :P
Are you sure the WG is good? No leaks? How much boost are you hitting?

Re:wastegate won't open

ok, i tried pulling the arm out and then put my finger over the hole where the hose conects and it sprung back. It was working the last time i drove it and I drove it today and now it will go up past 10 lbs. Haha my buddy even laid in the engine bay holding the hood open to see if it moved while i boosted in 1st gear but there was no movment. Do u think the wastegate is bad?

Re:wastegate won't open

I just went out and tried blowing and then sucking on the hose while it was atached to the wastegate and it won't allow me to do either. So it doesnt seem like it leaks at all.
