Default wastegate spring question

its a 38mm turbonetics evolution wastegate with a 9 psi spring. if the turbo setup is for 18psi what do i do?

i called turbonetics and a tech said that i would use the 9psi spring and just ut a boost controller?

the turbo set up is going to have a boost controller, so is what he said safe?

if its not then does a tial spring fit this wastegate?

thanks

mauricio

you might want to get a slightly higher pressure spring, some people have issues with running over double the spring pressure. I wouldnt know because I rock internal gates like a gangsta

hahah.

@excalibur02:
you can take out the spring, stretch it, and put it back in. if you do this really careully you should get a longer, but also stronger spring capable to hold more psi. combine it with the boostcontroller to adjust the rest.

dont stretch it too far, because you cant stretch it back
you can test the spring by putting it back into the WG, and put a boostmeter on the wg, and a pump using a T adapter for the vacuum hoses. (u can try using a bicycle pump)
