Default wastegate spring problem...

i just put a 11.6 psi (big red spring) i got from tial in my wastegate but it only shows that i am at 8 psi...

the spring i had before was a 7 pound spring. its a tial 38mm wastegate. is it possible to put them in backwards... i dont think that would matter though so i dont know...

also, i have a small vaccum leak where my intake manifold connects to the head, i dont know if that would be my problem or not, because with the 7 psi spring it would hold steady at 7 pounds...

thanks,
Mike

no i have my wastegate comming off of the fuel pressure regulator, bov comming from where the pcv usually connects and the guage is t'ed off of the bov.

yeah, the vaccum leak is killing me... hopefully when i get that fixed it will see 11 psi... where it should be

What turbo and motor and what rpm does it hit full boost at? An exhaust leak could also cause your turbo to not spool up, either the head to mani, wasgate to mani or turbo to mani leak

its a gsr with a t3/t04e .57

in 3rd gear i get full boost at around 4 - 4500 grand.

i dont know if it would be an exhaust leak beacause it would get to 7 pounds and hold there with the 7 punds spring. but it might be. i have new gaskets for the wg and head, but for the turbo it mani i used gasket maker stuff...

I'd just double check my old setup had some major exhaust leask it would hold 6psi but the spool time gradually took longer...there is a weak poin that isn't alowing you motor to get more than 8psi either exhaut or boost leak...that is if your wastegate is working properly, double check all your couplers and clamps too, is your BOV leaking?
