Default wastegate reference

should i take the wastegate boost reference from the compressor housing or somewhere closer to the throttle body, my friend told me that the compressor housing pressure is higher than what is at the throtle body.

there will be a small drop from compressor to throttlebody, do you want more or less boost?

well my wastegate is set to 8psi if i put the reference line at the compressor housing i will only get about 6 - 7, if i put it near the throttle body i will get 8 steady, thats what im thinking, but its late and this is my first turbo build.

look because its first bulid. your engine will break that is for sure ).
the pressure in the turbocharger hose is from orgine . and its the better to the wastegate because its direct and still there are no leak and immediat pressure . so if you need to use the throttel as atest for the wastgate and for your beautiful idea its ok then use the turbocharger hose. i hope you get me.

There is not really a more accurate spot to put it in regards to a wastegate.

If you are talking about a gauge, then yeah put it in the intake plenum or a hose off of it.

Moving the vac line for the WG to the plenum will allow you to get the most out of a certain spring. This of course relative to running it off the compressor housing. It only takes care of the pressure drop from the IC leaks ect.

I personally run my external WG off of the compressor housing. If you are running a boost controller, then it really doesn't matter.
