edit:
so i got the flapper off and the actuator bracket off but i can't get the flapper arm out.
any idea how to get this bitch out? i've got a dremmel but don't know what to use to grind this fucker.

ok so i tried searching and came up with a thumb in my ass :S
i was going to make a down pipe for my 14b and run an external dump for the wastegate.
can i get rid of the internal wastegate and put an external wastegate inline the dumptube?
like in this pic
Attachment 20022
can i weld on a flange and put a wastegate in that spot? then have the dumptube coming off the wastegate.
also how would i go about getting rid of the internal wastegate flapper?
sorry for my noobness

Re: noob question about wastegate placement

yea, some dsm guys do it that way. As for the flapper im not sure since i dont have one in front of me, but some combination of a grinder, maybe a hammer, and some time should do the trick

Re: noob question about wastegate placement

ok so if i make on i'm gonna have that dump as an elbow so the wastegate don't sit down on the oilpan, but that will work then.
and i'm sure i can grind the flapper out, but bump for a better answer on that.

i guess if i grind out the flapper i can also port it out a little for more flow. would that help

yes. you would want to port out the housing. the wastegate flapper shaft hole will have to be filled obviously.

rofl, i didn't think about that, but i'm sure i would have figured it out. hopefully before i hooked everything up and had exhaust coming out the hole

how would i go about filling the wastegate flapper hole? i have a flux core welder so i'm sure i can't weld it shut.
what would be the best way to fill it? i already know jb weld won't work, is there something similar that would work?

Tap it and tighten a bolt into the hole.

Re: noob question about wastegate placement

no the flapper has to be removed and the holw where the shaft spins in has to be closed
