Here in my small town I have set a standard for girls and Tuning their cars. Which excites me, and meny of the guys are very happy that I am turboing my car. They all respect me for my driving abilities, and racing tendencies. I like being different and I hate being copied so i always try to think of something to set my car apart from most. My fiance thinks its funny, he doesn't mind the picture or the postings. Thanks you Guys

If you have an internal wastegate with a 15PSI actuator you cant get it down to 5 or 6PSI, you have to get another actuator. You can raise the boost that much with a boost controler, but if you try to lower it by lengthening the rod your wastegate will be open to much and you will never make boost, or you will make eratic boost at best. The rod trick works for two or three pounds of boost only, not ten.

Well we lengthened the acutator and it has worked, we have a iittle more tweeking to do. Everything that I have heard and read says that this will work. Nothing is easy and it will take time. Thanks for your post anyway.

customcoach is right, you will get some severe lag if that gate is partially open (to far) when trying to boost. Sometimes its just best to get a another internal gate and modify it to fit the compressor housing.

we did have it lenghtened a little bit far and it had some major lag. We tweeked it a little and shortened it half as much as we lengthened it and it now boosts 5-5.5 consistantly and you can feel that the lag has been fixed. I am running without a bov until this weekend and the spooling time will be much quicker. All together- my buddy runs a tuning shop and another an import shop. One of them drove it last night and said it felt like a factory-turbo car. It is so smooth- I love it already.

Ya, but wouldnt it be much better if it didnt have any lag at all? Personally I cant stand turbolag, I like instant torque off the line, and power whenever I want. I've had a few DSM wastegates that open so damn fast it took forever to make the cars boost.

1g 300zx wastegates and I believe Chrysler M24 (fake T3)'s use 5.5psi wastegates, so you could possibly modify one of those to fit your setup. It would spool alot faster. The BOV isnt going to really make a diff, it will sound alot better than the compressor surge you hear right now though ;)

Good luck,

Jeff Frank

I'm surprised to see a girl at this site. When did this happen?

Anyways, please get the right actuator. You have no idea what a difference it will make. I'm sure someone on this board has one. Just put a "WTB" ad in the classified section. Turbo lag sucks and should be eliminated as much as possible. Please get the actuator. Trust me, you will be much happier with it.
