Wastegate Options

I had a Audi Gate but sold it to 9tray turbo because he was in a bind.
Now I need one, Lookig for 38mm or so and around 125.00 or less.

I know the OBX/Fake ones have blown, but some haven't, some styles are better then others. Tial, HKS Style and so on.

Also I got a local deal I think on a Deltagate, but aren't they proned to creaping?

Looking for about 11-14psi on low boost and 17-23psi on high.

Whats peoples opinions?

For the amount of boost you're running I'd never run a deltacreep. For the money you want to spend the only options are a knockoff tial. Though I've seen some used tials go for that price.

Ya, budgtet is getting low, But what about Tail knock off? I heard about their Diapham blowing, but nothing about the HKS Fakes.

From what I've seen, all the Tial knockoff failure is due to installer error, people screwing up seals/diaphrams.

I've never had a problem with the XS/SSautopoop Tial knockoffs. They have held boost rock solid.

deltagates dont creep. tey got that nickname because of the shitty designed drag manifolds they were used on.

Me neither, you just have to careful with the diaphram when changing springs.

Dude, dont ---- around...spend the extra $$$ on the tial 38mm...youll be happy you did. Its cheap insurance- I myself havent run one of the knock offs, but I THINK that the diaphrams are made of a different material. Ive got a TIAL and love it, just my .02....

Being thata wastegate is one of the more important components of a SUCESSFUL setup...I wouldnt stinge there.... maybe on a BOV or some ----... But not the WG.

I have to say that is probally wise. I am really doing a tight budget setup, but I am struggling on whether or not to get a knockoff wg. On one hand it is a simple mechanical design, so I see how someone could make an effective knockoff, but on the other hand, if it does malfunciton, your turbo, your engine, and the money spend on tuning the engine could all be gone for good. Well how many people on here run the knockoffs, how many run the real thing, anyone have problems>?

Re: Wastegate Options

Well I bought a Knock-off.

Personally, anyone who blows a diaphram, boost jumps and you can't get off it in time really doesn't pay attention enough!! I've spiked my stock ZC WAY over 17psi a bunch of time trying to come up with many different MBC and the things had no problems.

I've seen now 2 knockoff tials and they held fine, I really just want to know if I should go HKS or Tial KNockoff.
